Gold Mountain is a group of more than 70 growers in Nicaragua that pool together their resources including agronomists, ripeness experts, and processing facilities so that they can all benefit and produce high scoring coffees consistently. This "Elixir" comes from Maximino Palacios & Marlene Hernandez, Carlos Garcia, Juan Carlos Salgado &
Aracely Montenegro, and Yesenia Salgado Lanzas before then heading over to Finca Idealista for processing where experimentation with carbonic maceration has produced delicious results. Carbonically macerated, double fermented, and dried with the cherry still intact, the processing for this coffee leads to a syrupy dark fruit profile and rounded honey notes. To offset climate disruption, the Gold Mountain Group also purchased an area of rainforest where they focus on protecting endangered plants and animals, on top of this they also help extend the farmers access to credit, supply water to schools, and install filter systems in the local area.
